Blonde Specialists in Palm Springs & the Coachella Valley

Intro

Going blonde is part art, part science — and it's what our team does best. At Vetiver, we specialize in high-performance blonding: bright, dimensional, healthy-looking color that's tailored to your skin tone, your hair, and how much upkeep fits your life. Whether you want a soft, sun-kissed grow-out or the brightest, cleanest blonde possible, our colorists build a custom plan to get you there and keep your hair feeling as good as it looks.

We welcome clients from across the Coachella Valley — Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, Cathedral City, La Quinta, Indian Wells, and Indio — as well as the High Desert, including Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree, Pioneertown, and Twentynine Palms.

Our blonding services

Bleach & Tone — Full lightening followed by a custom toner to erase brass and dial in your exact shade, from cool icy blondes to soft warm creams.

High-Impact Foiling — Foils built for maximum lift and brightness when you want that bold, all-over blonde with crisp dimension.

Balayage — Hand-painted color for a natural, sun-kissed effect and a seamless, low-maintenance grow-out.

Lived-In Blonde — A softer, blended approach designed for fewer salon visits and an effortless grow-out — perfect if you love blonde but not the upkeep.

Blonde Highlights — Classic foiled highlights to brighten and add dimension, customized to how light and how full you want to go.

All-Over Color — Single-process color for a solid, even blonde or to refresh and blend.

Color Correction — Fixing brassy tones, banding, grown-out color, or box dye — and safely taking previously colored hair to the blonde you actually wanted.

Why clients trust us with their blonde

  • Specialists, not generalists. Blonding is a core focus of our salon, and our team trains specifically in lightening and toning.

  • Healthy lightening. We use bond-building techniques and careful, customized formulation to protect your hair's integrity while we lift.

  • Built around you. Your skin tone, lifestyle, and maintenance preferences shape the plan — there's no one-size-fits-all blonde here.

  • Honest consultations. We'll always tell you what's realistic in one session versus what's best achieved over a few visits to keep your hair healthy.

Our process

  1. New Client Form. Tell us about your hair history (including any previous color or box dye) and the look you're after, so we can match you with the right colorist and reserve enough time.

  2. Consultation. We assess your hair, talk through your goal and budget, and map out a realistic plan.

  3. Your appointment. We lighten, tone, and style — and send you home knowing exactly how to care for your color.

  4. Maintenance. We'll recommend a refresh rhythm (toner/gloss and root work) that fits your chosen look.

Pricing

Because blonding is highly customized, we use personalized pricing rather than flat packages — the time and cost depend on your starting hair, your goal, and the service. Color corrections in particular vary a lot from person to person. After your consultation, your colorist will confirm the plan and pricing before any work begins, so there are no surprises.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to go blonde at Vetiver? It depends on your starting point, your goal, and how much work it takes to get there safely. Color corrections and big transformations take more time than a maintenance visit. We'll give you a personalized quote at your consultation.

How long does a blonde appointment take? Blonding is detailed work — a full lightening session can take several hours, and a color correction may be longer or split across more than one visit. We reserve the right amount of time once we understand your hair and goal.

Will lightening damage my hair? Any lightening is a chemical process, but we minimize stress on the hair using bond-building products, careful formulation, and realistic plans. Sometimes the healthiest path to your dream blonde is over a couple of sessions rather than forcing it in one — and we'll always be honest with you about that.

How often will I need to come in? It depends on the look. Balayage and lived-in blonde are designed to grow out softly, so you can stretch your visits. Brighter, all-over blonde and root touch-ups need more frequent upkeep. Many clients also come in between appointments for a quick toner or gloss to keep their blonde fresh.

Can you fix blonde from another salon or box dye? Yes — color correction is one of our specialties. Bring photos of your current color and where you want to be, and we'll build a safe plan to get there.

What's the difference between balayage and highlights? Balayage is hand-painted for a softer, more natural and lower-maintenance result; foiled highlights give brighter, more uniform lift and dimension. We'll help you choose based on the look and upkeep you want.

Do I need a consultation first? For most blonding — especially color correction or a big change — yes. It lets us give you an accurate plan, time estimate, and price, and it sets you up for the best result.
